Five times the champions - IKE (Individual Retirement Account) managed by Legg Mason Poland

Individual Retirement Account with Legg Mason Equity Open-End Investment Fund won the first place among its competitors nationwide, according to this year’s ranking of individual retirement accounts published by the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita on 15 November 2012. Moreover, Legg Mason Individual Retirement Account confirmed its strong position in the category of personal retirement savings products for the fifth consecutive year.

Legg Mason Equity OEIF increased by +95.4% during the last 8 years i.e. from the launch of individual retirement accounts in Poland (Sept. 2004 – Sept. 2012). It was the best performance within individual retirement accounts offered in the period in Poland. Legg Mason’s product proved to be the most effective retirement savings solution among different types of individual retirement accounts. In the same period the best individual retirement accounts of other types i.e. based on unit-linked insurance, bonds and bank deposits earned the profit of 71.5%, 64% and 54.2% respectively. This shows that IRA with Legg Mason substantially outscored its competition. The runner-up achieved a result which was 20 per cent worse and the best individual retirement account based on a different asset class earned a 23 per cent lower result.
